About Bona Solutions

A home should be within reach.

We are a construction company in Kigali. We build houses and sell them. Around that, we make materials, try new ways of building, and look after buildings once people live in them.

What we believe

A good home should be within reach of the family that needs it. We get there by joining local craft with methods learned abroad, and by keeping every cost, photo and decision in front of the owner.

    Within reach

    A house only matters if a family can get into it. So we sell finished homes, build to order, and run an instalment plan that asks for no large deposit and no credit history.

    Local craft, methods from abroad

    Bricks, pillars and beams are made here in Rwanda. Prefabrication and rapid-setting concrete come from working with builders overseas. We use both.

    Visible to the owner

    Material costs, milestones and site photos go into BonaTrack, our own software. You see what was spent and what was built, wherever you are.

Beyond houses

Not everything we build is a house.

Urban farming towers

A farm that goes up, not out.

A farming tower stacks growing floors five storeys and higher. Plants root in water, not soil. Food grows in the middle of Kigali, on the footprint of one small building.

    Roots sit in moving water that carries what the plant needs. No soil is used.

    Made for the city, so food grows close to the people who eat it.

    Crops are grown floor by floor, without pesticides.

  • A small footprint

    Five storeys and more of growing space on a single small plot. Height does the work that land would.
